Micro-learning webpages provide short, targeted learning experiences. I collaborated with subject matter experts to ensure that each webpage includes relevant, practical information to help the audience build skills and implement steps to make change in their settings.

THE PATIENT SAFETY SCREENER: A BRIEF TOOL TO DETECT SUICIDE RISK IN ACUTE CARE SETTINGS

This seven-minute video describes the first part of the Patient Safety Screener, a tool for identifying patients in the acute care setting who may be at risk of suicide. The accompanying webpage and the ED-SAFE Secondary Screener (ESS), can be used to guide suicide risk stratification for patients who screen positive on the PSS-3.

EFFECTIVE SUICIDE PREVENTION: EVERYONE HAS A ROLE TO PLAY IN SUICIDE PREVENTION

This four-minute video provides a brief overview of the Suicide Prevention Resource Center’s Effective Suicide Prevention Model, which can help clients carry out suicide prevention efforts that are most likely to be effective. It will guide them through the three elements of the model—Strategic Planning, Keys to Success, and the Comprehensive Approach.

HOW EMERGENCY DEPARTMENTS CAN HELP PREVENT SUICIDE AMONG AT-RISK PATIENTS

This nine-minute video and the accompanying webpage describe the unique role that emergency department (ED) professionals can play in preventing suicide by providing five brief interventions prior to discharge. It provides action steps and tools for implementing the  interventions in these acute care settings.
